ShiftPaybook

Terms of Use

Last updated:

These terms apply to the ShiftPaybook app for iPhone and this website. By downloading or using the app you agree to them.

Apple's standard licence

Your licence to use the app is Apple's standard end user licence agreement: Apple's Standard EULA. These terms add information specific to ShiftPaybook. Where they overlap on your licence to use the app, Apple's agreement takes priority.

What the app does

ShiftPaybook helps you log shifts, track hours and estimate your gross pay from the rates and rules you enter. It is a personal record-keeping and calculation tool.

Estimates are gross and not guaranteed pay

Every figure in the app is an estimate based on what you enter and the rules you set. Estimates are gross, before tax and other deductions. They are not a payslip, they are not a promise of what an employer will pay, and an employer may calculate pay differently.

Not legal, tax or payroll advice

The app and this website give general information only. Nothing here is legal, tax, accounting or payroll advice. Pay and working-time rules differ by country, region, contract and employer, so check your local rules or ask a qualified adviser before you rely on a figure.

No claims about employers

The paycheck check compares an amount you expected with an amount you received and lists possible reasons for a difference. A difference is not proof of an error, and neither the app nor this website decides whether an employer has broken any rule or law. Use the result as a starting point for a conversation with your employer or the relevant public body.

Free, Pro and subscriptions

ShiftPaybook is free to start. ShiftPaybook Pro unlocks extra features and is available as a monthly subscription, a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. The price and length of each option are shown in the app, in your local currency, before you buy.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription in iPhone Settings, under your Apple ID and Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

The lifetime purchase is paid once, does not renew, and is tied to your Apple ID. Purchases can be restored from the app's paywall. Refunds are handled by Apple. Your records stay viewable if Pro ends; Pro unlocks creating and using advanced features, not access to your own data.

Your data and backups

Your records belong to you and are stored on your device. We do not have a copy, so we cannot recover data if you delete the app or lose your iPhone without a backup. You are responsible for exporting backup files and keeping them safe.

Acceptable use

Use the app lawfully and for your own record-keeping. Do not copy, modify or reverse engineer the app except as the law allows, and do not use it to harm others or to interfere with Apple's services.

Changes to the app and these terms

We may update the app, its features and these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Limitation of liability

The app is provided as is, without a promise that it is error-free or that its estimates are correct. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for decisions you make by relying on an estimate, or for lost data. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under mandatory consumer law that cannot be waived.

Governing terms

Apple's Standard EULA and these terms together form the terms for your use of the app. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the place where you live continue to apply.
